 Quick Setup
 You no longer need to develop the entire shop and integrate it with some complex cart
system. Q-Shop does everything for you, simply modify the pre-set ASP templates,
update the database with your own products and categories and the shop is ready!
There is no limitation on the number of products, categories or subcategories.
Simply add an item and the online catalog will be automatically updated. You no longer
need to edit your catalogue pages to update product information, special offers or
new additions. As the catalog is dynamically generated the updates take place instantly.
Manage Promotions Easily
With some store systems when you want to make a promotion you have to edit the web pages manually to update the information.
Q-Shop simplifies the whole process:
- Go to the administration web site
- Edit the product
- Add the sale price in the offer field
- Submit it!
The promotion price appears automatically highlighted in the catalog together with the
old price and the percentage of savings! It is even automatically added to the offers page.
Easily browse products
Products are organized in categories and can also be accessed browsing the manufacturer/brands categories. Q-Shop also implements a powerful search feature. Products easily link to their categories and brands/manufacturers including other product suggestions for cross-selling. Products can also belong to several categories to maximise product exposure.
Hide products and categories easily
You can also hide specific products or even whole categories. So you can temporarily hide a product or section for example when preparing a new section before it is officially available to customers.
Different ways to add products to the cart
Section lists can display products in two different formats; a list of products that can be added by a single click on an individual button or a common button for all the products (for addition of several products at the same time), changing this is just one click in the edit section interface.
This can be very useful to facilitate the addition of many products to the cart in one go.
Set featured products
Define a list of products that you want to display in the home page. They'll be displayed randomly on the home page and in the featured products section.
Product Pictures
You can use several display layouts. Each has additional optional functions like zoom image pop-up or an image for the other side of the product. Display only one image or several at the same time. You can also let the user scroll through the different images available without reloading the page.
Shopping Cart
Allow users to navigate the store and add products to their shopping cart and purchase them all at the end. They can always modify the quantity of each product easily, removing them with just one click or emptying the shopping cart in one go.
Users can optionally send the ordered products to a different address to the customer's.
Unlike other shopping carts, if you add a product that is already in the cart it will not be listed twice but it will just increase the quantity.
Users can see all the time how much is the cost of their current shopping cart.
For security reasons the items in the shopping cart are never stored in the client machine, all the data is stored in the server, no calculations for totals, taxes or shipping are done in the client for maximum security. And you won't need Java or complex JavaScript routines in the user browsers.
European shops can display products with VAT included.
Easy catalog management
You can add, modify and delete products directly from the web interface provided.
Q-Shop is extremely flexible, for each product you can define up to two different option types containing different values each. The types and options can be different between different categories and products allowing you to completely adapt the storefront to your needs.
Example:
- Product 1: "Size=Small,Medium,Large"
- Product 2: "Size=Small,Medium,Large,Extra Large"
and "Color=Red,Blue,Green"
Adding categories and subcategories or editing them is as easy as adding products using the web-based Control Panel.
Q-Shop Pro allows users to review and rate products. All reviews/ratings are then added for administrator review who can delete or approve them. Once approved reviews appear in the product pages together with graphical ratings.
This feature can be easily enabled/disabled from the control panel.
This feature is only available in Q-Shop Pro.
Define different prices for different options. You can define relative prices (+$3.50 or -$3.50) or total prices ($34.50). There is no limit in the number of options per product.
Example:
- Small ($30)
- Medium ($32)
- Large ($35)
You can associate related products to all products. Related products will be suggested to the user on the product details page and his/her cart. Why not suggest a bottle of champagne when a customer orders red roses?
Complementary products
You can set a product as complementary to another one. When the product details are displayed both products will be displayed with full details and the customer can add both at the same time (for example two pieces of a dress sold separately).
User discounts
You can even define a discount rate for your registered users. Modify this in the users management section and all new orders for the user will enjoy the discount.
Easy Navigation: User friendly
The storefront has been designed to facilitate the user navigation to the maximum; customers can go quickly to any section from any page and check/modify their shopping cart quickly.
It is also possible to search the products database based on the product name and description in one category or all, with any or all of the words used in the search and specifying an optional price range.
You can also have multiple pictures for each product. Customer can view them by clicking on teh picture and without reloading the full page or annoying pop-ups.
Everything has been designed to be user-friendly and to require a minimum numbers of clicks.
Wish lists
Customers can create their own lists of products in the personal "Wish List". Products added to the list can be accessed any time quickly and conveniently. This feature greatly helps users to get back to their favourite products between visits.
Integrated web administration
Q-Shop provides a complete web interface for administering the store without the need of installing any client software. You'll be able to manage your shop regardless of where you are as long as you are online. Review orders, users, products, categories, store settings, currency conversions or get sales reports, all from a single, easy-to-use interface.
User tracking
When users purchase their first product/s their details are stored in the database. Each time they make a new purchase their shopping information is updated so it could be possible to make promotions based on the purchase history of a particular user.
Q-Shop also detects users that visit the shop again and greets them. It can also pre-fill automatically the checkout forms with their personal details for maximum speed after logging in. This makes the checkout process very simple and convenient. You don't want to make it difficult for your users to come back again and again.
When users place an order they're asked if they want to receive information from you so you can mail them later with promotional information with their consent. A mailing system has also been included with Q-Shop.
Users can unsubscribe by reviewing their details or simply clicking on a link in any mailing received.
User's Area
Users can log in and use several functions provided:
- Review and track orders
- Print invoices of orders
- Review and modify their personal details
- Edit their personal list (wish list)
- Change their password
- Set a user as their default in the browser they are using (this allows them to be identified as being the same user in different locations/browsers)
All this new features are provided at no extra cost. No other system in the same price range offers so many features like Q-Shop.
Show prices in up to two currencies
 You can define the main currency and optionally a secondary one indicating the conversion factor. To allow maximum compatibility you can configure the secondary currency name as an image or HTML (for example the Euro sign with "€"). All the product prices including the shopping cart will be shown in both currencies.
Automatic e-mail Notifications
Every time a customer places an order you and the customer will receive an e-mail notifying/confirming the purchase with the items ordered and the total cost.
When you change the status of an order an e-mail can be automatically sent to the customer. You can associate different e-mail templates for each state, email are automatically customized every time they're sent.
Users also receive a confirmation email when they register. The e-mail text can be set up using templates that will be merged with real data when sent.
Fully Customizable
Q-Shop is fully customizable. With the use of themes you can completely change the look and feel of your online shop but since we provide the full source code this is only the beginning.
Many of the storefronts available let you make little modifications to the look and functionality of your store. With Q-Shop you can modify the templates and add new functionality very easily directly into the source code that has been written using ASP/VBScript. You don't even need to recompile it!
Transaction Processing
Q-Shop can be adapted to process credit card transactions from the web. To learn more visit our Transactions page.
You can have calculation of national and local taxes following the US, Canadian or European Union systems (learn more). EU shops can display products with VAT included.
Q-Shop also calculates shipping cost using several configurable systems.

Now available UPS cost calculation in real time and parcel tracking (for this module it is required the use of the AspTear component and a free license from UPS).
Sales reports
Automatically calculates total sales figures for a selected period of time (total before taxes, total taxes, total shipment cost,...).
Q-Shop Pro includes additional reports in graphical format: most sold products, top selling categories, top selling brands/manufacturers and even your top buying customers!
Download orders in text/CSV format
Download order headers comma separated format for an specific period of time. Order headers contain user details, subtotal, total, taxes, shipping,... This can help you process and analyze the data off-line or import it into your system. CSV files can be read directly using Excel.
Completely based on ASP technology
The system uses ASP (Active Server Pages), the dynamic web server language from Microsoft. ASP and VBScript provide a great flexibility and easy development/deployment compared with other common languages like Perl or Java. This technology is growing incredibly fast with more and more developers every day. ASP is therefore an excellent option for web applications. Q-Shop is independent of the client browser as it doesn't depend on Java or JavaScript. All the user needs is a browser with session cookies enabled.
Order and Billing status
Easily modify the order and order billing status using the web interface. Do searches for orders in any of the states (billed, unbilled, new, etc). You can also use automatic status update email notifications to your clients. (very useful for shipping confirmations)
Wide mail support
Send e-mails using one of the several mail systems supported: CDOSYS, CDONTS, JMail, AspMail. Or add another one easily using the code provided as a starting point.
Product Availability
Set the availability of products (24 hours, 48 hours, etc). This information will be shown together with the product details.
MS Access and SQL Server Support
Q-Shop provides full support for MS Access and MS SQL Server. SQL Server will provide optimum performance for busy sites. The Access file is provided together with the SQL Server scripts.

Top 10 products (Pro)
Display top 10 most sold products on the shop's home page. You can use the control panel to enable/disable this feature and decide whether you want to display it in the center of the page or on the right hand side below the featured products, or even both!.
Through the control panel you can generate the top 10 most sold products and then either manually edit the list or leave it unchanged. Once saved the list will remain unchanged until modified. This allows you to include featured or promotional products in the list.
