What's new in Q-Shop v2.0

The last release of Q-Shop adds many new features and improvements over previous versions. This additions make Q-Shop easier to configure and use, more powerful, faster and more robust.

After many new features and some extra, QuadComm is proud to release Q-Shop v2.0. Next you can see a list of some of the additions available in version 2.0 (see features added to v1.2).

General

• Extra error correction and data validation in the user and administration interfaces.
• Improved performance and resilience.
• Improvements to user and administration interface.
• Support for alphanumeric Product ID's/SKU.
• Advanced Stock control: report of stocks, products with no stock display a message to the customer and cannot be ordered. The client-side features can be easily enabled and disabled.
• Support for manufacturer/brand. Users can also browse by manufacturer and switch between the two easily.
• Products can have options that modify the price in addition to options that do not.
• General code improvements, additional code comments, documentation and manual sections.
• Updated support for UPS: New version of the UPS interface supported. Users can track their parcels when reviewing their order without leaving the shop.

User Interface

• Possibility to order product lists by different fields (price, name,...).
• Improved search using name and description, price range and section.
• Users can add products to "My List" (wish list) more easily.
• "Recommend to a friend" function added.
• Define featured products that will be displayed randomly in the home page.
• New featured products section available.
• Added "cross-sell" capabilities. Users will get recommendations in the details page and in the cart (recommendations for all the items in the cart).
• Added support for free-text state/province field in checkout.

Administration Interface

• Improved user management tools and statistics.
• Mailing system for registered users.
• Users can unsubscribe from mailings with a single click.
• Possibility to temporarily "Close" the shop. New users will get a message saying that the shop is closed when they go to the start page. The other users will still be able to continue shopping. This makes sometimes maintenance easier.
• Associate automatic e-mails (using templates) to a change of any order state, like sending an email when an order becomes "Shipped" for example or another when the order is "Waiting for Stock".
• Better formatting of credit card number and possibility to delete it once it has been processed.
• Better user shopping statistics. Most used sections analysis that may allow to target users better.
• Upload image files (may not work in older versions of IIS).
• Added the possibility of adding a parcel tracking reference number.
• Define most colours using an easy to use graphic web interface.
• Improved and easier to use tax calculation configuration (now web-based).
